#3 Guardiola’s tactics and choice of players
This is City’s second defeat in a row and slowly questions will be asked regarding Guardiola’s tactical decisions. The reason why he opted for Danilo in place of Kyle Walker is a big question.
Despite Manchester City’s defense conceding three goals against Crystal Palace, Guardiola opted for Gundogan who is not known for his defensive attributes. One player Guardiola had found very difficult to replace is Benjamin Mendy since he has been at the forefront of City’s attacking game this season.
Delph did a decent job as Mendy’s replacement but he needs to get more chances in the starting 11 to fit in with City’s other players and their playing style. His usage of Kevin De Bruyne was questionable as he operated more as a fullback who regularly supplies the forwards with crosses into the box.
