Not only is Kovacic good at regaining possession and breaking play, he is also proficient when it comes to holding on to the ball. A great dribbler with nimble feet, Kovacic can leave opponents chasing shadows, Kovacic averages 1.7 dribbles per game and thus brings something to the table that Fernandinho could not.
Kovacic uses his dribbling skills to open up spaces in midfield which would then enable him to split defences with his passes. His pass completion rate is a staggering 93.8%!
