After a tough start this season, Manchester United are currently 8th on the Premier League table, 12 points behind the leaders, Manchester City. The Red Devils have managed to win just six of their 12 Premier League games this season.

The Manchester-based club scored 20 goals in the opening 12 Premier League games this season and conceded 21 goals during that period. However, with the January transfer window just a few months away, Manchester United could use their money power to lure some of the best talents to the Old Trafford and bring their season back on track.

Right on this note, here is the list of three players who could help Manchester United to save their season.

#3 Ciro Immobile

Romelu Lukaku scored just four goals in opening 12 Premier League games this season and was often criticized by fans and media for missing goalscoring chances at the crucial stages, The Red Devils need a new striker to bring their season back on track and Lazio's Ciro Immobile could be the perfect man for the job.

Ciro Immobile is a highly prolific scorer with immense talent and incredible finishing skill, making him one of the finest attackers in Europe. The Italian international scored 41 goals last season, 29 of which came in the Serie A alone. He also showed the creative side of his game during the 2017-18 campaign and registered 10 league assists.

Although Lazio was knocked out of the Europa League by FC Red Bull Salzburg in the quarter-finals, Immobile finished as the joint top goal scorer of the tournament with eight goals.

The 28-year-old started strong this year as well and already bagged eight league goals in just 11 Serie A games.

#2 Florian Thauvin

The French winger joined Newcastle from Marseille in the summer transfer window of 2015 but he failed to make a grade and managed to play only 13 games for the club.

He spent just six months with the Magpies before heading back on-loan to his former club, Marseille. He found his lost form during his loan spell at his former club and Marseille signed him permanently in 2017.

He scored 46 goals in 91 league games during his second spell at the Stade Vélodrome (including the loan period) and won the UNFP Player of the Month award three times. His brilliant performances with his club caught the attention of the French coach, Didier Deschamps and he was chosen as a part of France's FIFA World Cup 2018 winning squad.

His vision, dribbling, and ability to score goals from distance will make him an interesting option for the Red Devils.

#3 Kalidou Koulibaly

Manchester United struggled defensively this season and conceded 21 goals in the opening 12 Premier League games. Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly is among the best centre-backs in the world right now and could be the answer to the Red Devils' defensive woes.

Koulibaly is a quick, tall and strong defender, who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and has an excellent passing range too. This season, he completed 575 passes with an impressive accuracy rate of 90.3%. With 18 interceptions and 22 tackles completed in the league alone, he continues to excel as Napoli flourishes under Carlo Ancelotti.

The 27-year-old played 135 league games for the Naples, scoring eight times. He was a part of Serie A Team of the Season in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and he also earned himself a place in the CAF Team of the Year in 2016 after his fine defensive showings.

However, he recently signed a new contract with the Italian club and the Red Devils need to dig deep into their pockets to sign the talented defender. He is also being linked with a move to Barcelona, which makes the situation more difficult for Manchester United.
