With speculations intensifying over the future of many big-name players in Europe right now, we take a look at 5 top superstars who could switch during the transfer window:

#4 Adrien Rabiot

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, is one of the few top superstars who could be on the move this winter, with the Frenchman having refused to extend his contract with the Parisians, by virtue of which he is now free to negotiate with his suitors.

If reports are to be believed, Rabiot has his heart set on a move to Catalan giants, FC Barcelona, with reports recently stating that the French International has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the LaLiga champions worth €10 million annually, and the Blaugrana could pay just €5 million to snatch him up this winter.

Barcelona have been tracking the midfielder for quite some time, and even saw two of their bids rejected by Paris Saint-Germain recently. However, it appears the Catalans giants are close to luring Rabiot to the Camp Nou.

#3 Alvaro Morata

Chelsea made Alvaro Morata their most expensive recruit when they lured the striker from Real Madrid to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2017, and the former Los Blancos superstar earned himself a bright start to life in the English capital, scoring an impressive 10 goals in his first 10 games.

However, things change quickly in football, and Morata has experienced that during his Chelsea career. From fan favourite to unwanted, the Spaniard has fallen from grace to grass in London, following a run of poor form that started since the previous campaign.

As it stands, there isn't space for the striker in Maurizio Sarri's starting line-up at the moment, with the manager having converted Eden Hazard into a false 9, while he has kept his eyes on the transfer market for another hitman.

As a result, Morata has reportedly made up his mind to quit Stamford Bridge, and a host of European clubs including AC Milan, and Juventus are interested in his signature.

#2 Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen's situation at Tottenham Hotspur hasn't gone unnoticed. The former Ajax superstar hasn't committed his future to the Premier League giants, and it now appears he could be set to call time on his career at Spurs.

The Dane continues to be a subject of intense speculations, with a number of European powerhouses including Barcelona and Real Madrid paying close attention to the development in North London, and his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, added fuel to the fire with his recent comments regarding the player's situation.

He was quoted saying:

“Of course Christian Eriksen is such an important player for Tottenham and of course as a person or as a professional coach or manager, you would like to have this type of player with you.
“But in the end it’s a negotiation and there’s different parties that have different interests.
“It will be fantastic if Christian Eriksen is going to be committed with the club for a long term, and if not it’s his right to do what he wants to do.

#1 Gonzalo Higuain

Another top superstar who could be on the move during this winter transfer window is AC Milan striker, Gonzalo Higuain, with many reports linking the attacker with a move away from the San Siro.

The Argentine striker left Juventus for the Rossoneri during the summer transfer window, and after spending just 6 months with the Serie A giants, it now appears he could end up leaving the Italian top flight this January, with Premier League giants, Chelsea, working on getting him to Stamford Bridge.

Higuain has been a long-term target for Maurizio Sarri, and has reportedly convinced the Chelsea board to lure him to Stamford Bridge, as the manager looks to strengthen his attack. If reports in Italy are anything to go by, the player himself has his heart set on a move to London, and it is only a matter of time.
