Big things were expected from Davide Zappacosta when he joined Chelsea from Torino in the summer transfer window of 2017. However, he failed to make the impact that he wanted to and is currently out of favour at the club.

The Italian was inconsistent with his performances throughout the 2017-2018 season and he failed to cement his place as a regular in the Blues' starting line-up. He played 22 games during the last season, of which only 12 were starts. Chelsea managed to keep only three clean sheets in the 22 Premier League matches that he featured in last season.

The London-based club replaced Antonio Conte with Maurizio Sarri at the start of the 2018-2019 season, which further pushed Zappacosta away from Chelsea's first team setup.

He has played just one Premier League game under the former Napoli Manager so far, which was a six-minute cameo in Chelsea's 4-1 victory against Cardiff City in September.

The 26-year-old recently admitted that he is open to the move away from the Stamford Bridge and Inter Milan are reported to be interested in taking the defender back to his homeland.
