England last won the World Cup in 1966.

The history of football begins in England and even today England has more football clubs than any other country in Europe or elsewhere. But despite being a world football hub, England has won the World Cup only once and that too in 1966.

Even with outstanding players like Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and the like, the English National Team hasn't won the World Cup in recent times.
