Lionel Messi dominated 2019, Ronaldo will be keen to provide a response this year
As we have seen, Lionel Messi dominated the football world last season. It is not sure that needs to be proved. Everyone knows that he won every award that needs winning throughout the year: FIFA The Best award, the Ballon d’Or, Pichichi Trophy, European Golden Shoe, Champions League Golden Shoe and a host of other individual accolades.

Most of the organizers of these awards left Ronaldo out in the cold for most of them. This appears to have been a slap on the Portuguese face. We all know how much he desires to lay his hands on these accolades.
This time around though, he looks set to make a point to the organisers and voters that overlooked him. With the rate that the 34-year-old is going, he would need some stopping.

Unsurprisingly, Lionel Messi is his favorite player and is the one true GOAT for him over Cristiano Ronaldo. The 2022 FIFA World Cup final, where Messi's brace led to La Albiceleste lifting the cup left a lasting impact on him.
