The 18 year old Welsh defender won a lot of plaudits for his commanding style of play in Wales' 4-1 victory over Ireland in the Nations League last month. And now it's time he shines in Chelsea colours in the Carabao Cup.
Maurizio Sarri can replace either of David Luiz or Antonio Rudiger to play Ampadu in the central defense position, but it's likely to be Rudiger after the German limped off against West Ham last week.
Ampadu is one of the best young defenders in the Premier League right now, but has not made a break through in the first team of Chelsea, with even Danish defender Andreas Christensen struggling to find place in the squad.
It will be interesting to see Ampadu tonight as he would be playing to impress Sarri, so as to stake a claim for a first team spot in the future.
