Liverpool are off to a stellar start in the 2021-22 season. The Reds are undoubtedly one of the most exciting teams in European football, especially going forward. With the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota in their ranks, Liverpool have wreaked havoc on opposition defenders.

While most of their competitors spent heavily in the recent summer transfer window, Liverpool had very little incoming activity. The Reds are looking relatively settled at the back, but may look to sign some forwards to ease the load on their attacking quartet.

On that note, here's a look at five attackers Liverpool could sign in the January transfer window:

#5 Arnaut Danjuma

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed Liverpool's interest in Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.

Danjuma has been one of the first names in Villarreal's starting XI since his move from Bournemouth this summer. The Dutch international has already notched up 15 appearances in his short stint with the Yellow Submarines. Danjuma has been directly involved in nine goals (seven goals, two assists) for the club.

In less than three months at his new club, the 24-year-old has established himself as one of the finest wingers in La Liga. Danjuma has attracted interest from several English clubs, including Leeds United, Newcastle United and Liverpool.

However, Romano has said that Villarreal are currently unwilling to sell their star forward. The club has no intention of selling Danjuma, but Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool 'love' the player.

#4 Karim Adeyemi

Liverpool have reportedly expressed strong interest in former Bayern Munich youth product Karim Adeyemi.

He returned from his loan spell to his parent club RB Salzburg in the 2020 winter transfer window. Since then, Adeyemi has established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the continent.

At just 19, Adeyemi has racked up 72 appearances for the Austrian champions. He has registered a direct involvement in 42 goals (25 goals, 17 assists) in less than two years since his return from loan.

It is no surprise Adeyemi has been scouted by some of Europe's top teams, including Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Liverpool. However, in a recent interview, RB Salzburg's Sporting Director broke his silence on the matter. He said:

"Karim will finish the season with us; that is clearly the plan. I don't know what could happen if Karim doesn't finish the season with us."

#3 Jarrod Bowen

Jarrod Bowen is currently one of the hottest properties in the Premier League, and Liverpool have previously expressed interest in the forward.

The young Englishman made his case in front of Jurgen Klopp in West Ham's recent win against Liverpool. Bowen notched up two assists on the night to seal a memorable 3-2 victory for The Hammers.

In 17 appearances across competitions this season, Bowen has tallied three goals and five assists. He has played a key role in securing his team a top-four spot heading into the international break.

The 24-year-old is one of the most hardworking forwards in the Premier League, making him a good fit at Liverpool. Bowen could also substantially reduce the workload of Liverpool's magnificent attacking trio of Mane, Salah and Firmino.

Liverpool have previously expressed interest in the English forward, but West Ham have set an asking price of £40 million. If reports are to be believed, The Hammers have increased Bowen's asking price for potential suitors.

While Bowen may demand a high transfer fee, it may be worth the punt for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

#2 Antony

According to several reports, Liverpool are plotting a move for Ajax winger Antony, who has impressed in his brief spell in the Eredivisie.

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut for Sao Paulo just three years ago, and has been on a steep learning curve since then. Since his move to Ajax in the summer of 2020, Antony has made 59 appearances for the Dutch champions. He has scored 14 goals and 15 assists for his new club to earn a call-up to his national team for the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

According to El Nacional, Antony is one of the names on Liverpool's wish-list for the winter transfer window. He could be one of the most viable options for Liverpool, as they will certainly have to overpay for Premier League prospects, while Antony could be available for far less.

Ajax signed the Brazilian winger for a reported fee of £14 million just over a year back, and could set an asking price in the region of £26 million for him. Antony will undoubtedly be a signing for the long term, and could prove to be the perfect fit at Liverpool.

#1 Jeremy Doku

If reports are to be believed, Jeremy Doku could well be on his way to Merseyside in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The Belgian international is regarded as one of the most talented wingers in the continent. He is currently plying his trade at Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais. Doku is still a relatively unknown entity, but has shown immense promise at a very young age.

At just 19, the Belgian has already registered 41 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, and has bagged two goals and four assists.

Doku completed the move to Stade Rennais just a year back for a £23.4 million. His valuation might have increased since then. In a recent report, RTL Sport journalist Alexandre Braeckman said that Liverpool are 'best placed' for Doku's signature.

Reports in the Mail Online and Liverpool Echo suggest that Liverpool remain keen on the young winger's signature. Doku is expected to cost Liverpool over £30 million.
