Liverpool finally got hold of their first Premier League title in 2020 since its inception in 1992. In the process of that materializing, they were mightily close to becoming invincible.

In the 2018-19 season, Liverpool failed to secure their maiden Premier League title by just one point to Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp knew they needed to perform extraordinarily to achieve their goal. And that is exactly what they did. They started avoiding defeat in January 2019 and went with the flow, creating an unbeaten streak of 44 matches in the competition.

Liverpool were only five matches short of equalling Arsenal's legendary record from the 2003-04 season and beyond. The 21-match away record had also begun simultaneously. However, the run would ultimately see an end 13 months later. Watford stunned the 2019-20 Premier League winners with a surprising scoreline of 3-0 at Vicarage Road ending their overall as well as away undefeated streak.

#2 Arsenal - 27 games

Arsenal were simply a different breed in the early 2000's and their fierce rivalry with Manchester United gave us the best period of the Premier League. In the process the Gunners created such a record that every other club would find almost impossible to achieve.

They became the only club in Premier League history to go a whole season without losing a single fixture. This achievement earned them the title of "Invincibles" and they went on with their unbeaten streak to a record 49 matches. It started on April 25, 2003.

Arsenal were the previous holders for the unbeaten away record with 23 matches. They built a new one during the 18-month run, which lasted 27 matches. It took an equally strong opponent to restrain them as Manchester United's 2-0 victory at Old Trafford in October 2004 ended the Invincibles' remarkable journey.

#1 Manchester United - 29 games

As surprising as it might sound, Manchester United hold the record for most matches without defeat away from home in the Premier League. The Red Devils were completely derailed after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 and it required someone with the club's DNA to restore them to a certain level.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over managerial duties from Jose Mourinho midway through the 2018-19 season. No visible progress was seen as they finished in the same place when Solskjaer arrived, sixth. The following season was looking even worse as Manchester United experienced their worst ever start to the Premier League season.

Conditions remained the same until the arrival of midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window from Sporting CP. His arrival was like a breath of fresh air as United did not lose a single away fixture that season. No other club had collected as many points as them during the second half of that season.

They built on that momentum and became only the second side besides Arsenal to not lose a single away fixture in a season. This was during the 2020-21 Premier League campaign. The 29-match unbeaten away run saw an abrupt end on 16th October 2021. Leicester City completely outplayed United in a 4-2 thrashing at the King Power stadium.
