Takumi Minamino has been at Liverpool for just over four months now. Despite a slow start to life in the Premier League, the Japanese international is expected to flourish in the coming months under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp.

The German mastermind, who is known for his steady integration of new signings into the first team, knows that he has a gem of a player on his hands. Even before Minamino ran rings around Virgil van Dijk while playing for RB Salzburg in the Champions League meeting earlier this season, Klopp had been monitoring the Japanese youngster’s progress and his performance at Anfield just reinforced his belief.

Minamino, who moved to Europe in 2015, has won the League and Cup double in all but one of his five seasons in Austria, such has been Red Bull Salzburg’s domestic domination. If the current season resumes, the Japanese midfielder could very soon lift his first trophy in England.

Trophies Won:

Austrian Bundesliga – 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19

Austrian Cup – 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19
