#2 First player to score in six different Copa del Rey finals
Barcelona are the most successful club in the history of the Copa del Rey, triumphing on a record breaking 30 occasions, and they have been utterly dominant in the competition in recent seasons, making the final in each of the last six seasons consecutively, while winning four between 2015 and 2018 before the heartbreak by Valencia on Saturday.
A large part of this recent near invincibility has been down to the displays of Lionel Messi who has played a major role in seeing Barcelona triumph, scoring in six of the eight finals (2012 and 2016 being the exceptions) that the club has participated in with him in the side, helping them win six titles.
This means that Messi has scored in six different Copa del Rey finals, making him the first player to achieve this distinction and with him not showing signs of stopping anytime soon, we can be sure that he would be around to extend the record by a couple of more finals.
