Will Gareth Bale and Philippe Coutinho move before deadline?
Will Gareth Bale and Philippe Coutinho move before deadline?

The transfer deadline is only an hour away as we are gearing up for an interesting finale. Some huge deals have already been completed today, which includes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moving from Arsenal to Liverpool for £40m, before Paris Saint-Germain completed the signing of the most coveted player of the transfer window in Kylian Mbappe.

The Frenchman joined the Parc des Princes outfit on an initial loan with an obligation to buy next year. However, now is not the time to look back and instead focus on what potentially awaits us in the final hour of the deadline day.

So without much ado, let's take a look at the 4 insane transfers that can still happen in the last hour of deadline:

#4 Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea

Arsenal v Leicester City - Premier League
Danny Drinkwater

The Leicester City midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge outfit. The Blues are light in midfield, having sanctioned the sale of Nemanja Matic, which leaves Antonio Conte with only 3 options in midfield.

The Englishman will be a good partner for N'Golo Kante and is habitually a box to box midfielder, known for his supreme work rate - the perfect Antonio Conte player. It is being reported that the former Manchester United academy graduate is currently at Cobham, however, a fee is yet to be agreed between the two clubs.

#3 Gareth Bale to Manchester United

Real Madrid CF v Real Betis Balompie - La Liga
Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale has been the apple of Manchester United's eye for a long time now. Even before he completed his then world record transfer to Real Madrid, the Red Devils wanted to bring him to Old Trafford.

According to English outlet Daily Star, there is still a possibility that Bale might end up at Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho said to be a huge admirer. The Portuguese was also promised a 4th signing by the club and that is yet to arrive. Could Bale be the 4th?

#2 Davide Zappacosta to Chelsea

FC Torino v UC Sampdoria - Serie A
Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta was an unknown name to many of the Chelsea fans. However, reports in the Italian press suddenly popped up with his name earlier in the day and reports now suggest that he has completed his medical with Chelsea.

The 25-year-old is Italian club Torino's first choice right-back and is being brought to the Stamford Bridge outfit to challenge Victor Moses. The Blues are shelling out €25m for his services, having failed in their bid to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal.

#1 Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Philippe Coutinho

Many would say a transfer o this magnitude will most likely not happen this late in the transfer window. However, there is a big twist in the tale. The Spanish transfer window doesn't close in the next hour, instead it will close tomorrow midnight CET.

Barcelona have chased the Liverpool star all summer, and have still not given up on the 25-year-old. The Catalan giants are expected to come back with a huge bid for the Brazilian towards the end of the Spanish transfer deadline. Will the Catalan outfit be able to sign their #1 target?

The one that can't happen!

#1 Thomas Lemar to Arsenal

AS Monaco v Juventus - UEFA Champions League Semi Final: First Leg
Thomas Lemar

Arsenal were linked with Thomas Lemar for the entire transfer window and a transfer was unlikely to happen after Arsene Wenger claimed that Monaco had 'shut the door' on any move. However, towards the end of the transfer window, Liverpool suddenly ramped up their interest in the Frenchman and had a couple of bids rejected by the Stade Louis II outfit.

Finally, earlier today, numerous outlets confirmed that Arsenal had a Premier League record bid of £92m (€100m) accepted by Monaco. It soon emerged that Lemar was not inclined to a transfer as there was not enough time left, due to his participation in France's World Cup qualifier against Netherlands.

During the game - which resulted in a comfortable 4-0 win for France - the 21-year-old scored a brace and that has surely added a couple of millions to his price tag. With so little time less, it is unlikely that the deal will happen.
