#3 Borja Mayoral (Real Madrid/ AS Roma)

Borja Mayoral netted 17 goals in all competitions in 2020-21 while being on loan at Roma from parent club Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Spaniard has finally started to blossom after starting his career at Madrid as a fringe player. With Karim Benzema and Luka Jovic ahead of him in the pecking order, Borja was short of game time and was loaned out to Roma.

Mayoral did not disappoint, though. Producing a return of 17 goals and four assists, he contributed a goal every 106 minutes. For context, Edin Dzeko creates a chance or scores every 146 minutes, and Ciro Immobile contributed a goal every 118 minutes in 2020-21.

The Spanish forward is a clinical finisher who also possesses the predatory movement required to score goals in the top flight. He exhibits composure in front of goal and relies on his instincts to sniff out opportunities.

AS Roma are in desperate need of replacing Edin Dzeko, who turned 35 this March. Mayoral could be the answer if Roma are willing to pay his buy-out clause. Perhaps the talented forward could help Roma rebuild next season under new manager Jose Mourinho.

#4 Jesse Lingard (Manchester United/ West Ham)

Jesse Lingard has been one of the signings of the season in the Premier League. After enduring a difficult start to the season at Manchester United, he was loaned out to West Ham United in January.

Lingard failed to play a single game at Manchester United in the first half of the season. However, since joining the Hammers, Lingard has rejuvenated his faltering career by producing match-winning performances.

The England international scored nine goals and assisted four times for the Hammers, propelling David Moyes' side to a sixth-place finish in the league and qualification for next season's Europa League.

Lingard's sizzling form also meant England manager Gareth Southgate named him in his preliminary squad for Euro 2020.

Although Red Devils boss Ole Gunner Solksjaer has expressed his admiration for the in-form player, Manchester United will likely look to cash in on the opportunity to sell the England international and raise funds for other big-money signings.

#5 Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea/ AC Milan)

Fikayo Tomori has been one of the standout defenders in Serie A since joining AC Milan on loan in January. Before his Milan move, Tomori clocked up just 45 minutes under Frank Lampard at Chelsea. However, Tomori has been a different player with the Rossoneri.

Since his arrival, Tomori has displaced AC Milan club captain Alessio Romagnoli in the starting XI and even filled in for Simon Kjaer. He completed 2.3 tackles and 2.4 blocks per 90 in 2020-21. The central defender also scored his first goal for Stefano Pioli’s side in a commanding 3-0 victory over deposed champions Juventus

Chelsea have inserted an initial £26 million option in Tomori's contract, and the Milan hierarchy looks set to buy the central defender permanently. Milan are set to play in the Champions League next season, and Tomori could be one of their key players.

The English international has performed impressively for AC Milan since arriving on loan this January. Many were surprised to see the 23-year-old overlooked by England manager Gareth Southgate for his provisional squad for this summer’s European Championships.
