Arsenal won a record 13 Premier League matches in a row at the end of the 2001/02 season, starting and ending against Everton.

From February to May, Arsene Wenger's men were unstoppable and wrapped up the Premier League title in the penultimate round of fixtures with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

Arguably, the closest the run came to ending was against Tottenham Hotspur in early April.

Arsenal took the lead through Freddie Ljungberg’s goal but Highbury was silenced when referee Mark Halsey awarded Spurs a penalty and Teddy Sheringham converted from the spot.

Five minutes later Arsenal were awarded an equally debatable penalty for a tangle between Dean Richards and Thierry Henry which Cameroonian Lauren coolly slotted in to secure an eighth successive win.

Those 13 wins secured a seven-point margin of victory at the top of the Premier League table along with an FA Cup triumph, their second double under the Frenchman.
