#2 Nicolo Barella to Chelsea

Maurizio Sarei is a great admirer of Barella

It could be a matter of one in, one out at Stamford Bridge over the next couple of days.

Earlier this month, Chelsea sold centre midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Monaco, leaving them a man short in the centre of the park. You could argue that the likes of Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, or even the impressive Ethan Ampadu, could take his place in the side, but they may not fit the bill of the sort of player Maurizio Sarri likes to play at the base of his midfield.

One man who does though is Cagliari’s, Nicolo Barella. The 21-year-old is very similar to Jorginho, and could be a much needed back up option were he to move to England.

He would cost a lot of money, with Cagliari likely to demand at least £50 million. There has also been interest from Manchester United, so Chelsea could have competition for his signature.
