Juventus' legendary keeper Gianluigi Buffon went level with AC Milan legend Paulo Maldini for most Serie A appearances (647) by starting on goal in the 2019-20 Serie A game with Sampdoria.
In the process, Buffon broke the record of Alessandro Del Piero (478) for most appearances by a Juventus player in the top-flight. The 2006 FIFA World Cup winner has made his 179 other Serie A appearances for Parma.
