5 most humiliating defeats in Jose Mourinho's career

Jose has had his fair share of low points

4) Tottenham 5-3 Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur never loved playing Chelsea in the Premier League because of their poor record against the Blues. They have always been undone by their much wealthier opponents on several occasions but this game marked the end of their torrent spell temporarily at least.

Top of the table Chelsea came to the Lane in 2014 in low spirits after a run of not so good results having surrendered their considerable lead over the past few games. The game started in good fashion for the Blues after Diego Costa opened the scoring.

But Jose had a tough talk at half time after what ensued in the remaining part of the first half. Spurs equalized very quickly as Harry Kane scored the first of his two goals on the night.

Danny Rose made it 2-1 with a fine strike followed by an Andros Townsend penalty right on the cusp of half-time. It got worse just 7 minutes after the restart as Kane scored again.

Costa got one back to make it 4-2 but Nacer Chadli made the win safe by scoring a 5th with 10 minutes to go. Terry got another consolation just before full time but the damage had been done. This was the first time Jose’s Chelsea had conceded 4 in a match. It would be another 2 years before that happened again to one of his sides.
