5 youngsters Chelsea might regret selling

This weekend for Chelsea was bitter. They lost at home to Manchester City in a match which some thought was quite skewed for finishing only 1-0. Their chief tormentor was the man Mourinho sold to Wolfsburg; Kevin De Bruyne.

Chelsea's cycle of selling players is bizarre as there are many stars who could have done a job for them and more who found themselves on the shop window. Among them, we have seen Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku already tearing the League apart.

Here are some other ex-players who might come back to haunt Chelsea.

#5 Bertrand Traore

The Lyon winger was on Chelsea's books until the beginning of this season. He impressed at Ajax last year as the Dutch powerhouse reached the Europa League final with Traore scoring four goals. The attacker is agile and has the ability to change a game. He is highly rated and Lyon prised him away from Chelsea with the promise of first-team football for just £8.8 million.

Traore scored 9 goals for Ajax in the league last season playing on the left-wing and has started the season in good form for Lyon with a Man of the Match performance in the Europa League against Atalanta.

There is, however, a buy-back clause in his contract which means Chelsea could still return and not break the bank like United did for Paul Pogba or they did themselves for Nemanja Matic.

#4 Thorgan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard is Eden Hazard's younger brother. His form for Monchengladbach has been consistent since he joined them and he has also impressed scouts of major sides across Europe. There were reports that Chelsea were willing to bring back the younger Hazard but there has been no movement on that front.

Hazard was commendable in the league with 6 goals and 4 assists, but it was in Europe that he sparkled last season providing four goals and three assists in eight appearances.

Gladbach used to be a top side back in the '70s and are slowly building a good side that can qualify for the Champions League consistently. If they can manage that, the younger Hazard could soon face the club that that let go of him.

Hazard has already made 5 appearances for the senior Belgium team as well.

#3 Nathaniel Chalobah

Watford v Manchester City - Premier League

The midfielder suffered an unfortunate injury recently but has quickly settled into his new surroundings at Watford. Chalobah did have a miserable loan spell at Napoli after his breakthrough at Chelsea but it is too soon to write him off.

You'd only have to look at Jesse Lingard who is a first-team player at Manchester United to realize that some players hit their stride a little later than others and at 22, Chalobah could make Chelsea regret their decision soon.

Chalobah plays a deeper role in the midfield, often creating chances with positive passing and direct play apart from possessing the ability to win back the ball in the deeper areas.

Chalobah has played 5 times for Watford this season before his injury and has earned rave reviews from Arsenal legend Ian Wright apart from being named in England's squad in the first international break this season.

#2 Dominic Solanke

Sydney FC v Chelsea FC
Solanke left Chelsea this past summer

Solanke was considered one of the brightest prospects in the Chelsea youth system. He shone for the England U-20s in the World Cup this year, scoring 3 goals in 4 games for the Young Lions and big things have been expected of the young striker.

However, the youngster was allowed to depart the club on a tribunal fee of £3 million to join Liverpool, a top 4 rival. Solanke failed to play a game for Chelsea in his time at the club which is reportedly the reason for his departure.

He has featured 4 times in the league already for Liverpool. At a time when both English players and strikers have skyrocketing values, Chelsea could come to regret the sale of this young talent.

Solanke also featured in a pivotal role in Chelsea's youth teams and shone in a loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem where he scored 7 goals in 21 appearances for the Dutch side.

#1 Nathan Ake

Everton v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League

The defender joined Bournemouth this season for £22 million. While he has gotten off to a shaky start to the season with the club, Ake impressed last season even prompting Chelsea to recall him in the middle of a brilliant loan spell at Bournemouth. He was sold this past summer despite Kurt Zouma being loaned out and John Terry leaving the club permanently.

Ake was praised by Antonio Conte on multiple occasions after impressing once he returned to Stamford Bridge. He was praised for his composure and maturity and became popular with the Chelsea supporters as well.

Considering Chelsea's teething problems at the back this season, Ake would have been a great option and his potential could still prompt Chelsea to regret selling the Dutch defender despite a difficult start to the season at Bournemouth
