Manchester United are one of several Premier League clubs reportedly interested in the services of Ecuadorean wonderkid Moises Caicedo.

After the teenager expressed his wish to join a top European club and stated that Manchester United are his favourite club, the English giants have emerged as one of the frontrunners to land him.

Manchester United have reportedly opened discussions with the central midfielder, who can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or in a defensive midfield role.

If he arrives at Old Trafford, Caicedo would only be the second Ecuadorean - the first being Antonio Valencia - to play for Manchester United.

Considering the talent of the player and the hype around him, Caicedo could evolve into a world-class player at the English club.

#2 Dayot Upamecano

Dayot Upamecano is arguably one of the best young defenders in the game at the moment.

The 22-year-old Frenchman, who has a great physical presence in the box and can close down the most formidable of attackers, has been a standout performer for RB Leipzig in 2017.

With his impressive performances at the heart of the RB Leipzig defence, Upamecano has attracted the attention of a bevy of top European clubs, one of them being Manchester United.

With central defence being an area of concern for the club, Manchester United could face competition from the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal to secure the services of the much-sought-after Upamecano, despite his steep release clause.

#1 Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho has evolved into a world-class winger after arriving at Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017.

The 20-year-old Englishman, who scored 17 goals and assisted as many in the Bundesliga last season, was heavily linked with Manchester United in the summer. However, a move did not materialise, as the English giants didn't table a formal offer for the player.

Since his failed move to Manchester United, Sancho has looked unsettled and is yet to open his Bundesliga account for the season. However, the player himself appears unconcerned by his 'dip' in form, saying in this regard:

“I feel like every player has a little dip in their career, and I feel I’m going through that at the moment. It is just how I’m bouncing back and I am just happy to have managers who have faith in and keep sight of me.”

Regardless of Sancho's indifferent form, Dortmund have refused to undervalue their most prized asset, who could still leave the Signal Iduna Park in January.

Manchester United have lacked a world-class winger for a while, and Sancho would undoubtedly be a fabulous acquisition. However, whether the move happens in January or later in the year remains to be seen.
