Matt Miazga is a 22-year-old American centre-back. He signed for Chelsea on January 30th, 2016 from the New York Red Bulls. He is considered to be a player with a lot of potential and he was tipped to be the next John Terry. He has only made 2 first team appearances so far and it is unlikely that he will add to that tally anytime soon.

His first loan spell was at Chelsea's feeder club SBV Vitesse. Although he found it hard to get game time at first, he still went on to have a successful spell and he helped them to win their first ever trophy. After the end of that season, his spell got extended for the 2017/2018 season and he made over 25 appearances for the club last season.

Although he seems to be progressing well it is unlikely that he will ever be given a chance to succeed at Chelsea. The Blues already have a lot of good centre-backs and are likely to sign better ones to challenge for the title next season. Miazga is just one among the many talented centre-backs in the loan army and he might need to find a new club if he wants to have a successful career.
