5 players your fantasy football team can’t go without

Aguero

The Premier League returns this weekend after the Capital One Cup ties in midweek, and for many, the focus returns to altering their Fantasy Football line-ups. With plenty of entertaining games scheduled, who will come out on top and which players will get those elusive goals, assists and clean sheets? Here are five players you need to put in your team this week.

Sergio Aguero – Manchester City

The Argentine striker has found his scoring form recently, and even though he might be an expensive option, he will almost certainly give you a decent points return. With the goals flowing at the Etihad and Norwich the visitors this weekend, Aguero will hope to continue this scoring form. Aguero has taken 20 shots this season, with a stunning 80% of them hitting the target.

Jose Fonte – Southampton

He’s cheap, and he’s one of the highest scoring defenders in the league this season so far. Southampton have conceded the second least amount of goals in Europe so far this season, conceding just three in nine games. At the weekend they face a Stoke side, struggling to score, netting just six all season. Despite being away from home, Southampton are very likely to once again keep a clean sheet.

Leighton Baines – Everton

Baines has got a potential handful with the on form Townsend running up against him, but Spurs are away from home, and have been a bit goal shy lately. They’ve scored just nine in as many games. Baines is always a potential high point scorer with his set piece ability, and he’s on penalties. If you can afford him, get him in.

Stephane Sessegnon – West Brom

West Brom are at home to Crystal Palace, who are still without a manager following Ian Holloway’s departure. Sessegon is a dangerous player, and with Palace leaking no less than 19 goals this season, the Benin international will fancy his chances to be involved in more goals this weekend. The danger Sessegon possesses is highlighted by his 18 take ons so far this season.

Adam Lallana – Southampton

Southampton have been in great form lately, and whilst they don’t score shed loads of goals, Lallana is often involved in the ones they do score. His club currently lie 5th in league and he is a cheap option on most Fantasy Football platforms. With two goals and two assists in his five games, adding on form Lallana to your team could prove a shrewd bit of business.
