A run of 11 successive victories at the end of the campaign sealed United's title defence as the Red Devils finished 18 points clear of the second-placed Arsenal to sweep their sixth Premier League title in eight seasons.

Manchester United's attacking display was on another level throughout the season as they netted a whopping 97 goals in 38 games in the league.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side went past Leeds United in the table during the 21st game-week and enjoyed a lengthy stay at the top, ending the season with an impressive 91 points in the board.

Fergie walked away with the Manager of the Season award while Sunderland's Kevin Philips won the golden boot after scoring 30 goals during the campaign.
