#2 ATLETICO MADRID

There were reports a couple of months ago that the deal to bring James Rodriguez to Atletico Madrid was almost done.

While those reports have calmed down, there remains interest in the player. Having already bought Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid last summer, Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid have now targeted the attacking midfielder. Rodriguez is said to be open to the move, and negotiations are currently being held between the two arch-rivals.

James Rodriguez's arrival would be good for Atleti. With the likes of Thomas Lemar and Vitolo failing to perform, the former Monaco man, who is proven in Spain, would definitely add some gold dust to an already good Atletico Madrid squad.

#1 MANCHESTER UNITED

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United are interested in the Real Madrid outcast, and have already held talks with the La Liga champions.

While Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish remains the preferred target for the Old Trafford outfit, there is a belief that Villa will demand an excessive fee for their captain, having survived relegation. James Rodriguez would cost a lot less, without a major drop-off in quality.

The Colombian has already admitted previously that he admired Manchester United legends Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, and was close to a move to the club from Porto, before joining Monaco. He would provide good competition to Bruno Fernandes, and would be a quality replacement in case the Portuguese is injured, suspended or needs a rest.
