#3 Versatility

Liverpool v Middlesbrough - Premier League
James Milner is now a more versatile player than before.

Even if we ignore the new signings, Liverpool's team from the previous season has only got better. Klopp constantly emphasises the importance of training and his side are much more of a team than before.

While defensive issues persist, Mignolet is now a more confident keeper. Milner's left-back stint makes the already versatile midfielder into an even better one. Wijnladum is now able to play in any of the midfield roles as well as on the wings. Further, Can already plays in the no.6 and no.8 roles.

Coutinho, although involved in a transfer saga, was beginning to play in central midfield. Mane can play on either wing while Firmino is skilled to play across the front three. Further, every other striker can play out wide apart from the central position.

This aspect was highlighted in pre-season as the players could shift positions with considerable ease, akin to the famous "Total Football" tactic. Versatility is a major asset for any title-winning side and Liverpool now have it.
