The thing with great football teams which go on to achieve something out of the ordinary is that they often demoralise opponents early on in the game by playing a brand of football that can make have a detrimental effect. Thierry Henry often said that opposing teams often felt intimidated when they took on that Arsenal team in the 2003-04 season and before long, the sort of football they played overwhelmed the opponents.

Arsenal used to be up and running and many games used to be decided in the first half. Similarly, Manchester City have found an attacking verve that is right up there with the best-attacking sides that the league has ever seen and like the Invincibles, they are often flatten opponents early on through their relentless passing combinations.

However, the statistics so far is even better than what the Invincibles recorded. In the 12 games that they have played so far, City have scored 40 times at an astonishing rate of 3.3 per game and have a goal difference of 33 in the league.

They are on track to score in excess of 120 plus goals in the league and that is something that would stand as a record for a long time. On the other hand, City's irresistible attacking football is complimented with an equally sturdy defensive structure and so far, the team has only conceded 6 times (an own goal has been ignored) in the league. Such numbers are potentially record-breaking ones and it would not comes as a big shock if they do go on to emulate the Invincibles.
