#3 Ligue 1's Goals Record

The 2015-16 campaign in which Paris Saint-Germain set Ligue 1’s points and wins records saw them score plenty of goals (102 in fact) but was also built upon what were the best defensive numbers in the history of Ligue 1, with just 19 goals conceded in 38 matches.

This year’s team doesn’t quite have that same balance and solidity but features such an array of attacking talent, highlighted by the front three of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar, that they look on course to just about topple Ligue 1’s long-standing goals record.

Another Paris side, Racing Club de Paris, set the record back in the 1959-60 season, scoring 118 goals yet only finishing third in the table behind Nimes and champions Stade de Reims.

This season, PSG have scored 45 times in 14 matches. If they continue to score at that rate (3.21 goals per match), they would reach a total of 122 goals by the end of the season and therefore set a new record.
