Savic is a complete midfield powerhouse

The Premier League transfer window will close on the 8th of August this time around as opposed to the regular date of 31st August. The decision was taken after English clubs voted in favour of the window closing early, citing squad instability.

As per FIFA regulations, every league must have at least one transfer window that lasts for 12 weeks.

Thus, the opening of the transfer window has been fast-forwarded to May 17.

With the World Cup just around the corner, clubs will desperate to complete deals in time. Here are five players who could be playing in the English top flight next season.

#5 Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

The 23-year-old powerhouse is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in football right now. Manchester United are favourites to gain his signature with Savic reportedly keen to team up with Serbian teammate Nemanja Matic.

Any transfer would cost in excess of £80m. Savic would be an upgrade on current Manchester United midfielders Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay.

A complete box-to-box midfielder, Savic is a mix of silk and steel. He is powerful in the air, has an excellent long shot and is a decent dribbler.

The Lazio man would definitely enhance any Premier league engine room!

Jorginho is one of the best passers in the world

One of the best midfielders in the Serie A, Jorginho is set for a massive tug-of-war with all top 6 Premier League teams interested and it is easy to see why.

The diminutive Italian doubles up as a defensive midfielder as well as a deep-lying playmaker- a rarity in modern football.

Jorginho loves to pass too and recently became the first player to record over 150 passes in a game among Europe's top five leagues this season! The Italian is also Serie A's top passer this season, averaging over 100 per game. The 26-year-old is capable of thriving in a two-man or three-man midfield and would add creativity to any side.

Despite playing in a possession-oriented team, he doesn't shirk from his defensive duties. Jorginho averages 1.9 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game.

The Brazilian left-back was unfortunate to be left out of Brazil coach Tite's World Cup squad. After an excellent campaign, Sandro has drawn interest from Premier League teams, with Chelsea and Manchester United interested.

Alisson is a complete player

The "most wanted" goalkeeper this summer, Alisson is widely reported to be Liverpool's number one target. Liverpool have conceded the most number of goals among the top four and signing Alisson will help improve the defence. Becker would be a reasonable upgrade on both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

A consistent performer for AS Roma, Alisson is also the number one for the Selecao.

The Brazilian is gifted with cat-like reflexes and is a "sweeper keeper". Excellent ball distribution is another aspect of Becker's game.

Alisson is definitely a worthy last line of defence.
