Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea - Tactical win

After a goalless 90 minutes in the first leg, Eden Hazard needed just 7 minutes to put Chelsea ahead. But unfortunately, a bizarre own goal from Antonio Rudiger levelled it up within 5 minutes.

Granit Xhaka pounced on a cross deflected by Rudiger to score the winner and take Arsenal to Wembley. Here are the talking points from the game:

#5 Chelsea need another striker and fast!

Using Eden Hazard as a false 9 didn't entirely pay off

Antonio Conte clearly does not trust Michy Batshuayi and the Chelsea board need to get him a new striker asap. The Italian was forced to play with Eden Hazard as the false 9 and that wasn't as productive as he would have wanted.

Hazard did score an early goal but the injury to Willian changed everything. Ross Barkley came off the bench to make his debut and it wouldn't be fair to criticise him for not linking up well on his first outing with Hazard and Pedro.

Edin Dzeko has been linked with the Blues and a deal is expected to be completed this week, according to Sky Sports. The move will give Conte a much-needed boost but might signal the end of Batshuayi at the club.

#4 Arsenal are only getting better

Arsenal v Chelsea - Carabao Cup Semi-Final: Second Leg
Unlikely hero

The loss of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United might actually be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal. The players have played and linked well to complete some super moves.

With Henrikh Mkhitaryan yet to make his debut and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang linked with a move (as per reports in the Daily Star), the Gunners are finally building a team. They are no longer going to be reliant on one player if Wenger gets his tactics right.

The only concern for them right now would be the contract of Mesut Ozil. Once that is sorted out, there will be no stopping Arsenal from heading back into the top 4 with ease.

#3 Wenger is to Conte what Mourinho was to Wenger

Chelsea v Arsenal - Premier League
Kryptonite

Antonio Conte just can't seem to get things right when Chelsea play Arsenal. The Italian even made things difficult for Manchester City when they visited Stamford Bridge but the Gunners weren't quite tested last night.

The Chelsea manager needs to find a better tactic when playing against Arsenal as Wenger always seems to be getting the better of him. The Blues were always favourites to win against Arsenal when Drogba was playing and also when Jose Mourinho was on the touchline.

The tide is changing and it will continue to be this way if Chelsea don't act soon. They need players and the manager needs to get back to his drawing board.

#2 Jack Wilshere is back to his best!

Arsenal v Chelsea - Carabao Cup Semi-Final: Second Leg
Showing his class

Jack Wilshere was the unsung hero of Arsenal’s win over Chelsea last night. He dominated the centre of the pitch and was brilliant on and off the ball.

The injury-prone player has finally shown the world what he can do if he stays fit and it is just magical. His passing, vision, ability to track down and more importantly, his positioning and awareness on the pitch is sublime.

His contract expires at the end of the season and the Gooners will be hoping that the club sorts things out with Wilshere soon. They need a player like him on the team and letting him go would be a huge mistake.

#1 Rudiger at fault but cannot be blamed

Chelsea v Stoke City - Premier League
What just happened?

Antonio Rudiger was responsible for both the Arsenal goals but he cannot be blamed for it. Both were unfortunate incidents and it's something that happens to all the players.

For the first goal, Rudiger was looking for the Arsenal players in the six-yard box when the bizarre goal went in. The ball, headed by Nacho Monreal was going straight towards Willy Caballero. But unfortunately, it hit Marcos Alonso's head and then hit Rudiger's and bobbled in.

For the second goal. Rudiger made an honest attempt to block Lacazette's cross but was unlucky to see the ball deflect off the inside of his leg and fall right in front of Granit Xhaka. The Swiss international made the most of the opportunity and slotted it home to win the game for Arsenal.
