#3 Bayern Munich - 25 (three-time Champions League winners)

Bayern Munich are through to the 2021-22 Champions League knockouts.

Bayern Munich are the only team to win all five of their UEFA Champions League group games this season.

Julian Nagelsmann's men have been imperious in Europe this season, winning all five games, scoring 19 goals and conceding only three. Their latest victory (2-1) at Dynamo Kyiv means Bayern could become the first team in competition history to win all six group games on multiple occasions.

Unsurprisingly, the three-time Champions League winners have been regulars in the competition. They have appeared in every edition of the competition since 2008-09, making 25 appearances in total.

#2 Real Madrid - 26 (seven-time Champions League winners)

Real Madrid are the most successful team in the Champions League era by a proverbial country mile.

The 13-time winners (seven times in the Champions League era) have been regulars in the competition since 1997-98. Since the Round of 16 was introduced in 2003-04, Madrid have never endured group-stage elimination.

Real Madrid are the only team to do a Champions League three-peat (2016-18). They are on the cusp of qualifying for this season's Round of 16.

After a shock defeat to competition debutants Sheriff at home, Madrid are atop their group after four matchdays. A win at Sheriff on Matchday 5 will confirm Merengues' place in the knockouts.

#1 Barcelona - 27 (four-time Champions League winners)

Barcelona are in danger of missing the Champions League knockouts this year.
Barcelona are in danger of missing the Champions League knockouts this year.

Like Real Madrid, Barcelona are the only team in the competition's history to have made over 25 appearances in the competition.

Much like their arch-rivals, the Blaugrana have never been eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League. This is since the Round of 16 replaced the second group stage. However, after five matchdays this season, Barcelona are in real danger of failing to reach this season's knockouts.

The Blaugrana made their worst-ever start to a Champions League campaign this season. They lost their first two games, conceding six goals and scoring none. Barcelona recovered to win their next two, but stumbled to a drab and fortuitous goalless draw against Benfica on Matchday 5.

Barring a result, possibly a win at group winners Bayern Munich on the last day, Barcelona are all set to drop down to the Europa League.
