Bayern's stranglehold on the Bundesliga has been so strong that it was almost unthinkable for anyone to imagine another club winning it, as the Bavarians have triumphed on each of the last six occasions.

The unthinkable is, however, what Dortmund is attempting to do this season, as they seek to win a first Bundesliga title since their triumph in 2012.

Led on the field by captain Marco Reus and ably supported by a wonderful cast including Manchester City reject Jadon Sancho, Paco Alcacer among others, coach Lucien Favre has moulded BVB into one of Europe's most dynamic and fluid side, earning plaudits for the brilliant and energetic style of play.

Dortmund have scored 54 goals from 21 matches at a rate of 2.57 goals per game which sees them sit two points clear of Bayern in the Bundesliga.

Their form saw them topping Bayern Munich by seven points at one stage, but some faltering in recent weeks have seen their lead at the top reduced.
