Chelsea's 2020-21 Player of the Year, Mason Mount, has arguably been the best player to come out of the club's academy since John Terry.

Having spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Derby under Frank Lampard, the youngster broke into the Chelsea first-team when Lampard was appointed manager the following season.

The 22-year-old became an integral part of the team under the Englishman, making more than 50 appearances in his debut season. The midfielder managed to score eight goals during the campaign, helping Chelsea secure a top-four finish and also reach the FA Cup final.

Mount continued his impressive performances the following season. Many thought that Thomas Tuchel's arrival would limit gametime for Mount. However that was not the case as the midfielder became an integral part of the team under the new manager as well. His incredible performances even earned him a spot on the 30-man shortlist for the 2021 Ballon d'Or. He scored nine goals across all competitions during the season as Chelsea went on to win the Champions League.

Mount is yet to score for Chelsea this season however fans will not be worried much considering the quality of the player they have on their hands.

#2 Christian Pulisic - 18 goals

Christian Pulisic's Chelsea career has been full of ups and downs so far. The winger has consistently struggled with injuries which have hampered his progress at Stamford Bridge so far. However, when fully fit and on form, the American has looked absolutely unstoppable.

Pulisic arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 as a replacement for Eden Hazard, who joined Real Madrid that summer. He had a decent first season with the Blues, scoring 11 goals across all competitions. His form after the lockdown was particularly impressive as he scored five goals in 10 appearances to help Chelsea secure a top-four spot.

The following season, however, Pulisic was in and out of the first team, with new manager Thomas Tuchel preferring other options in attack. As such he managed to score six goals throughout the campaign.

So far, Pulisic has managed to score 18 goals and provide 14 assists in 79 games for the Blues. If he can manage to stay fit, he can certainly be a huge asset for Thomas Tuchel's side.

#1 Marcos Alonso - 25 goals

It's no surprise that Marcos Alonso is the top scorer in the current Chelsea team, given the young nature of the squad and the Spaniard's ability while going forward. There are question marks regarding his defensive attributes but there's no doubt that he is one of the best full-backs while venturing forward.

Signed from Fiorentina in 2016, Alonso immediately became an integral part of the Chelsea team under Antonio Conte. The Italian deployed him as a left wing-back in a 3-4-3 formation and Alonso performed brilliantly under him, helping Chelsea secure their fifth Premier League title. Alonso managed to score a staggering 14 goals in two seasons under Conte and was arguably the best left-back in the Premier League at the time.

However, the arrival of Maurizio Sarri next season meant the team switched to a back four and Alonso was unable to make the same impact. He even fell out of favor under Sarri's successor Frank Lampard after the pair had a falling out last season.

But Lampard's sacking in January saw Alonso come back into the fold. Tuchel's preference for a 3-4-3 formation meant Alonso slotted straight back in. He has provided healthy competition to Ben Chilwell and has even managed to keep him out of the team this season having started six of the seven league games.

So far Alonso has scored 25 goals for Chelsea in all competitions. Given the form that he is in, you wouldn't put it past him to add a few more to that tally.
