6 players who should leave Chelsea in January

6. Ryan Bertrand- The talented player has been on Chelsea’s books since 2005 but has made only 28 appearances for the Blues since then. Bertrand was sent out to various clubs on loan but Chelsea were still not convinced of his obvious talent. The 24-year-old has been compared to Ashley Cole for his tendency to support the attack from the left flank and has some excellent tackling abilities. Ashley Cole has been benched for most of this season but manager Jose Mourinho prefers to use Cesar Azpilicueta as the first choice left back. Bertrand has been snubbed by his manager this season and can only hope of playing in the FA Cup games. The England international should look to leave Chelsea this season if he ever wants to further his career as a player. Leighton Baines is already in contention to be England’s first choice left-back which makes things worse for Bertrand as he cannot prove that he is worthy competition by sitting on the bench. Liverpool and Fulham have expressed their interest in the talented full back this season and it would be best for Bertrand to call time on his frustrating Chelsea career.

Moses is surplus requirements at Chelsea

5. Victor Moses- Chelsea had four bids rejected for Victor Moses by Wigan Athletic in 2012 before finally coming to an agreement. Moses was a hit at Chelsea, scoring 10 goals in all competitions in his debut season along with strong performances against Swansea City and Manchester United, where he won the Man of the Match award for his performance. The 23-year-old was a hit in European competitions being a vital part of the Blues’s Europa League campaign but things went downhill from there for the Nigerian with the arrival of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician signed several attacking players like Andre Schurrle, Willian and more recently Christian Atsu leaving no place for Moses in the squad. The Nigerian international was loaned to Liverpool where he scored on his debut but has made just a handful of appearances since then. The Nigerian international was a key player in his countries Cup of Nations squad and even managed to collect the FIFA Fair Play Award in the competition its almost criminal to keep such a talented player on the bench. It has become clear that Moses has no place at Chelsea so it would be best if he seeks a permanent move elsewhere if he wants to cement his place in Nigeria’s squad in the World Cup this year.

Marin's talent has been wasted in London

4. Marko Marin- The midfielder was Chelsea’s first signing on the 2012-2013 season and made an impact on the pre-season tour of USA when he scored against the Seattle Sounders. The German scored 1 goal in 15 appearances before being shipped out to Sevilla this season. The 24-year-old could never replicate his fabulous Weder Bremen form at the London club but seemed to rediscover himself at Sevilla where he has scored 2 goals in 11 appearances so far this season. Marin is such a hit with the Sevilla fans that they are looking for a soulmate for the midfielder in Spain in order to make him stay with the club. Should Marin make a return to Chelsea he will find first team appearances hard to come by as Mourinho has a wealth of midfield options and has even ignored star player Juan Mata in favor of other prospects. The German international has not featured for his country since the last World Cup and should continue his career with Sevilla if he ever wants to resurrect his international career.

3. Demba Ba- The striker arrived at Stamford Bridge from Newcastle United last January after scoring 13 goals in 20 games in the Premier League for the Magpies. Ba was an instant hit at Chelsea bagging a brace on his debut and scoring important goals against both the Manchester clubs ending his season with 6 goals in 22 appearances for the Blues. In spite of a promising start to his Chelsea career the 28-year-old has been relegated to the bench this season. Jose Mourinho prefers the partnership of Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o to Ba, who was not even on the bench for the recent FA Cup clash against Derby County. Ba missed the chance to move to Arsenal in the summer due to Mourinho blocking the move but has been linked to Stoke City and Crystal Palace this January. The Senegal international should switch clubs if he wants to become one of the Premier League’s most feared strikers once more.

De Bruyne has made just 6 appearances this season

2. Kevin De Bruyne- The talented playmaker arrived at Chelsea with the reputation of one of the most promising young players in Europe. De Bruyne justified that title when he notched up 10 goals in 34 games along with 11 assists during his loan spell at Werder Bremen and was assured by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho that he would have a big role to play when he returned to London. It now seems that Mourinho has gone back on his word as the Belgian has made just 3 Premier League appearances this season with Hazard and Oscar being preferred in the playmakers role. The 22-year-old has been in steller form for his country netting 4 goals in their World Cup qualifiers and becoming an integral part of the squad in the process. De Bruyne now faces a risk of being dropped from the national team due to his limited appearances for the club. Bundesliga outfit FC Wolfsburg have expressed their interest in the midfielder who will most likely move to the German club in order to feature for his country in Brazil.

Mourinho has shown complete disrespect to Mata this season

Mourinho has shown complete disrespect to Mata this season

1. Juan Mata- One player who certainly wants a move is Spanish ace Juan Mata. The midfielder, who was Chelsea’s Player of the Year for two seasons in a row, was shockingly dropped by manager Jose Mourinho who stated that he wished to build the team around Oscar. The 25-year-old has featured just 13 times this season for the Blues and has been substituted on numerous occasions. Mata made his displeasure known when he was substituted in a match last month and it is clear that he is unsettled at the London club. The midfielder is not indispensable to the Spanish national team as there are loads of upcoming players who are just as talented as he is so Mata will have to play more games if he wants to be a first choice starter in Brazil. The Spaniard has a host of clubs chasing him including Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich so it would be wise if he chooses to ply his trade in one of these clubs who will appreciate him far more than Chelsea have.
