Marin’s talent has been wasted in London

4. Marko Marin- The midfielder was Chelsea’s first signing on the 2012-2013 season and made an impact on the pre-season tour of USA when he scored against the Seattle Sounders. The German scored 1 goal in 15 appearances before being shipped out to Sevilla this season. The 24-year-old could never replicate his fabulous Weder Bremen form at the London club but seemed to rediscover himself at Sevilla where he has scored 2 goals in 11 appearances so far this season. Marin is such a hit with the Sevilla fans that they are looking for a soulmate for the midfielder in Spain in order to make him stay with the club. Should Marin make a return to Chelsea he will find first team appearances hard to come by as Mourinho has a wealth of midfield options and has even ignored star player Juan Mata in favor of other prospects. The German international has not featured for his country since the last World Cup and should continue his career with Sevilla if he ever wants to resurrect his international career.

3. Demba Ba- The striker arrived at Stamford Bridge from Newcastle United last January after scoring 13 goals in 20 games in the Premier League for the Magpies. Ba was an instant hit at Chelsea bagging a brace on his debut and scoring important goals against both the Manchester clubs ending his season with 6 goals in 22 appearances for the Blues. In spite of a promising start to his Chelsea career the 28-year-old has been relegated to the bench this season. Jose Mourinho prefers the partnership of Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o to Ba, who was not even on the bench for the recent FA Cup clash against Derby County. Ba missed the chance to move to Arsenal in the summer due to Mourinho blocking the move but has been linked to Stoke City and Crystal Palace this January. The Senegal international should switch clubs if he wants to become one of the Premier League’s most feared strikers once more.
