#2 Kevin de Bruyne
One of Europe’s biggest prospects, Kevin de Bruyne was snapped up by Abramovich when he was a subtle youngster at Genk. However, he was loaned to Werder Bremen on joining the London club, where he excelled in his role scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances.
The Belgian playmaker returned to Chelsea with Mourinho assuring that he was in his plans for the season. Despite this, he would only make 3 appearances for the Blues before moving back to Germany when Wolfsburg bought him for a fee of £18 million.
At Wolfsburg, de Bruyne had one of the most successful spells of his career. He ended the 2014-15 season with 16 goals and 27 assists in all competitions and was named the 2015 Footballer of the year in Germany. Manchester City did not waste time and bought him for a fee of £55 million in the summer of 2015 and he has been superlative form ever since.
