Barcelona celebrate their second goal against Arsenal

Amidst speculations to leave Barcelona for Real Betis, Iniesta was not a regular starter in 2004/05 or 2005/06, despite featuring in most games. Age was, however, on his side.

The team was dominated by international stars like Ronaldinho and Deco at that time, still, coach Frank Rijkaard turned to Iniesta to help change the game when Barça were losing 1-0 at half-time in the 2006 Champions League final against Arsenal.

Just 22 at the time, he replaced the more defensive minded Edmilson, and when Henrik Larsson appeared later in the game, the scoreline was turned on its head, as Barca ran away the eventual winners.
