Manchester City v Burnley - The Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Aguero topped City's scoring chart in the league

Manchester City scored 106 goals and conceded just 27 as they finished the season with a Premier League high goal difference of 79. Sergio Aguero was once again City's highest scorer in the league, scoring 21 goals that included three hattricks as he became the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 199 goals.

However, the biggest surprise of the season was Raheem Sterling, as he blossomed and thrived under Pep Guardiola, finally reaching his long overdue potential, making excellent runs, creating space and popping up in the right areas of the pitch as he scored a career-high 18 league goals.

At the back, new signing Ederson was the perfect fit in Pep Guardiola's system guarding the goal. The Brazilian kept 16 clean sheets in his debut season and was a huge influence in commencing the attack from his box as he averaged four long balls per game in the league with a pass completion rate of 85%.

Nicolas Otamendi was reliant and everpresent in the back four along with fullback Kyle Walker as the duo recorded 14 shutouts whereas John Stones and Vincent Kompany also chipped in with valuable contributions in an injury struck season, as they formed an in-depth central defence at City along with January acquisition Aymeric Laporte.
