#5 Most Consecutive Wins

AFC Bournemouth v Manchester City - Premier League
Sterling scored a last minute winner against Bournemouth

18 successive wins was a newly set English league milestone by Manchester City last campaign. The Premier League Champions broke Arsenal's feat of 14 straight wins in 2002 and it all started in the third week of the season when City beat Bournemouth 2-1 away from home.

This included wins against four of the top six teams in the league as City breezed past their opponents smashing 60 goals in 18 games, a run that lasted from August 26 to December 28, 2017, and included two last-minute winning goals from Raheem Sterling against Bournemouth and Southampton.

The year before, Chelsea had embarked on a similar run where they won 13 consecutive matches in their title-winning season. City's winning run was halted when they narrowly avoided defeat against Crystal Palace as Luka Milivojevic failed to convert his penalty in injury time.

Pep Guardiola's men had gone unbeaten until the new year, for a span of 22 games but their quest for invincibility came to an end as Liverpool beat City 4-3 at home and handed the Champions their first loss of the season.
