A list of records yet to be broken by Messi!

Lionel Messi led Barcelona to another victory on Saturday, as the Catalan giants defeated Real Zaragoza 3-1. Messi scored twice, taking his La Liga goal tally to 186 and joined Carlos Santillana in 9th place in the all-time La Liga scoring list. The man who just beat Pele’s record of scoring 75 goals in a calender year a few days ago, is hungry for more and surely is looking forward to toppling Telmo Zarra’s record of 251 La Liga goals and becoming La Liga’s all time highest scorer.

The name is MESSI.Lionel MESSI!

Here are a few more records which are bound to be broken by the ‘Little Magician’:-

1. Gerd Muller’s Record: Messi has already beaten Pele’s record, but now has to beat Muller’s 85 in a calendar year, which he scored with Bayern Munich and Germany. Messi has 10 games left to score the 10 goals needed to beat this.

2. Goals in El Clasicos: Alfredo Di Stefano holds the record for scoring 18 goals in El Clasico matches, where Messi has 16. He needs to score 3 more to beat it by the end of his career.

3. Most consecutive Highest Champions League goal-scorer: Messi has been top goal-scorer in the Champions League for the past 4 seasons. If he were to be top-scorer this season, he would be the only footballer in history to achieve this for 5 consecutive years.

4. Consecutive Golden Boot awards: Messi, along with other footballers, has achieved winning the Golden Boot twice, but would be the only one to win three if he could win one more.

5. Vivian Woodward’s Record: He holds the record for the most (25) goals scored internationally, with both club (Tottenham and Chelsea) and country in a calendar year. Messi, with 23, needs three more to surpass him.

6. Cesar’s Record: The ex-Barcelona player holds the record of most goals scored in a career, with 192 in 13 seasons. Messi holds 184 goals in 8 seasons, and only needs 9 more.
