This week coincidentally saw a top of the table clash in three Premier Leagues around the globe and in all the Leagues there was a new leader.
The most famous being the one in England, where Chelsea who were just a point behind Manchester United, visitedthe Old Trafford. The Red Devils were defeated at their home game and were dropped to second position in the World’s most viewed League. Joe Cole and Didier Drogba scored for the men in blue, while Federico Macheda pulled one back for Sir Alex Ferguson’s team.
In Germany, Schalke 04 were leading the Bundes Liga and hosted the second place Bayern Munich. Franck Ribery and Thomas Müller scored as the team from Munich moved up the table after a 2-1 victory. Bayern now look forward to carry the form to England when they face Manchester United in their second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
And last but not the least; our very own I-League too saw a top-of-the-table clash when Dempo came to Mumbai to play Mahindra United. The Goan side lead during the first half, but the Jeepmen came back in the second half with Muritala Ali scoring a brace for the home team to win 3-1 and lead the India’s premier league by one point.
