AC Milan won't sell Pato

AC Milan are in no mood to sell Alexandre Pato despite the player’s recurrent injury troubles.

Pato, who joined AC Milan in the summer of 2007, managed to make just 17 appearances for the Rossoneri throughout the season and remained sidelined due to thigh injury. However, club consultant Serginho claims that the club do not have the slightest intention to sell the Brazilian international despite strong interest from nouveau-rich French club PSG. Speaking to Globoesporte, Serginho said:

“With absolute certainty, Milan do not have the slightest intention of negotiating for Pato. He is a very important player. Big clubs want him but I believe it is almost impossible he will leave.”

Meanwhile, brother of Filippo Inzaghi has claimed that the legendary striker will continue playing next season despite getting axed by AC Milan who will not be renewing the 38-year old’s contract at the end of the season.

Former Lazio striker Simone Inzaghi, now a youth coach with the club, told TMW:

“Pippo has made history with Milan and is genuinely impacted by his departure. He is grateful to the Rossoneri for what they have done, but I think there is also gratitude from the club and the fans for him too.

Pippo is still physically fit and knows he can play on for a couple more years. Managed in the right way he can still give so much to football. This year he had expected to play a bit more, but saying that, he was recovering from a very bad injury.

He’s not decided on his future yet, but he is aware that he can still give so much to the game.”
