Man City's Adam Johnson: We're Gunning For All Four Trophies

Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has said that the team is looking to win every competition they enter this year, and that they have the squad to accomplish this. He also expressed doubts over Samir Nasri’s playing position if Manchester City decide to buy him this season. He suggested that the Frenchman would be equally adept through the middle and on the wings, but stressed that it didn’t matter as long as Johnson himself got enough games.

Johnson gunning for all four trophies

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Johnson said-

“I know I can’t play every game but as long as I play my fair share, I will be happy,”

“I don’t know how Samir Nasri, if he signs, might fit in for example, he might be used in central midfield for all we know.

“People thought I’d be a bit-part player when I signed but I said to myself I’ll show people how good I am and get straight in the team.

“I can’t worry about other players coming in or where they will play.”

Speaking about City’s chances this season, Johnson was exceedingly confident and said that they were going into all four competitions expecting to win them. His personal picks were the Premier League and the Champions League, although he emphasised that no players were taking things lightly in the City camp.

He said-

“It’s not a case anymore of when City are going to do it, we are actually doing it now. We’re definitely going into four competitions thinking we can win them all,”

Arsenal might rest players for the Carling Cup because their squad is not as big as ours. When you look at the team we’ll put in, it’s strong enough to win.

“We have players like Shaun Wright-Phillips who weren’t even on the bench for our first league game but would walk into most Premier League teams.

“I’d like to win the Premier League above anything else, including the Champions League,” he added. “But we won’t take anything lightly.”
