Aiming for the Premier League title, the real test begins now for Arsenal

November and December will provide the biggest challenges for Arsenal

Arsenal have had an absolute brilliant start to this Premier league campaign, having dropped just 5 points in the 9 games that they have played.

They lost their opening game at home to Aston Villa and also drew away at West Brom. But apart from these two games, the Gunners have been almost flawless.

Still, the question that has to be asked is: have Arsenal really been tested yet? Wenger’s men have just played Tottenham amongst all of their fellow title contenders.

The Tottenham win was far from a convincing victory, as the Gunners scrapped through to a 1-0 victory at The Emirates. Arguably, Arsenal’s only other major test was away at Swansea. Even though the Swans do not pose any major title threat, it is never really easy to come back from the Liberty stadium with all 3 points.

No one can really doubt Arsenal’s quality. Their already stellar midfield has been boosted with the signing of Mesut Ozil. Ozil has been absolutely fantastic for the Gunners this season and is already proving to be the signing of the season.

Credit for Arsenal’s form also has to be given to Wales Captain Aaron Ramsey and in-form striker Olivier Giroud. Both players have chipped in with goals and assists when it has mattered most. Arsenal now look like a complete team for the first time since the Henry, Viera days.

But the question to be asked is, can they replicate this form throughout the season? I’m sure many will have their doubts, but November will definitely prove to be Arsenal’s most important month yet.

With three incredibly tough fixtures, Arsenal will do extremely well to come out of November unbeaten. With trips to Old Trafford and visits from third-placed Liverpool and fifth-placed Southampton scheduled, Arsene Wenger will have to prepare his team exceptionally well.

Liverpool has been playing some exceptional football of late. Their striking duo of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge are causing all sorts of problems for defenses. The free-scoring Reds will be Arsenal’s first test when they visit The Emirates at the start of November.

It doesn’t get easier for Arsenal thereon as they visit Old Trafford the very next week. Even though the Red Devils haven’t been their usual dominating selves this season, there is not a soul who can ever write them off.

Gunners fans especially will be reminded of that humiliating 8-2 defeat a couple of seasons ago. You can trust me when I say that Arsenal will not be taking this fixture lightly.

Next up for Arsenal is a visit from the in-form Southampton. Mauricio Pochettino’s side is unbeaten in their last 5 games, having lost just one game this season. They also have the league’s best defensive record, conceding just 3 goals in their 9 games played.

Arsenal will have do well to score against them, while restricting their attacking threats. Arsenal’s last game in November is a trip to Wales, where they face off against Cardiff City. Undoubtedly, this will be Arsenal’s easiest game of the month. Although it’s worth mentioning that Cardiff has already beaten the mighty Manchester City in Wales. Arsenal will have to be cautious when they go there as they try to avoid any slip-ups.

December doesn’t get any easier for Arsenal as they face-off against Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea in back to back matches. These two months will definitely prove to be Arsenal’s most crucial, as they challenge for the title.

Quality, consistency and hunger should be on every Arsenal player’s mind as they look to reclaim the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
