Alex Song has struggled to get starts at Barcelona

Alex Song turned hero to villain in a matter of days for Arsenal fans when he decided to go forward with his transfer to Barcelona for a fee of £15 million in 2012. But if the reports coming from Spain are true, it seems that the Cameroon midfielder is considering a move back to the London club in the winter transfer market.

Barcelona have been favouring Sergio Busquets over Song in the defensive midfielder role in the first team and this lack of opportunity has been troubling the African star. The player is yet to cement his place in the Catalan line up and his frustration is quite clear according to leading Spanish papers like Marca and Sport.

Alex Song made only his third start for the Spanish outfit this season in the 4-1 weekend win over Valladolid.

Manchester United are also considering the possibility of signing the midfielder if the Catalans decide to sell him, but Arsenal remain the favourites to bag the Barcelona player.
