Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea: Player Ratings

Arsenal v Chelsea - Premier League
One of the best London derby!

A thriller of a game. This London derby had it all - excitement, action, drama, everything. Either side could have won the game but at the end, it was a 2-2 draw at the Emirates.

Jack Wilshere gave Arsenal the lead before Eden Hazard scored from the spot a couple of minutes later. With Marcos Alonso's goal, it all looked like the Blues were going home with all 3 points but Hector Bellerin pulled one back in the stoppage time of the 2nd half.

Here are the player ratings from the game.

Petr Cech - 7

Both the keepers made some fine saves to deny the opposition. Cech made 2 saves in quick succession during the 1st half of the game. Had it not been for Cech, Chelsea could have won the game

Calum Chambers - 4

Probably Arsenal's worst player of the night. He was lucky not have Morata scored early on in the game after he switched off for a moment.

Shkodran Mustafi - 6

Mustafi played in the middle of the back 3 and was the senior man at the back. The defence never really looked secured and allowed Alonso to run across him and score the 2nd goal.

Rob Holding - 6

Holding was never in the game and didn't have much to do. He went forward and helped create Wilshere's goal.

Granit Xhaka - 5

Xhaka didn't have the best of his nights. He was overshadowed by Kante in the game and his passing was patchy.

Jack Wilshere - 7

He gave Arsenal the lead in the 2nd half after losing Kante. Wilshere looked determined and was fierce while attacking.

Hector Bellerin - 7

Bellerin scored the winner for Arsenal in the stoppage time and was also able to keep Hazard quite in the 1st half of the game. However, he gave away a penalty which Hazard scored easily.

Mesut Ozil - 8

Probably Arsenal's best player on the pitch. Time and again he managed to find gaps in the Chelsea midfield, thus causing problems in the opposition's defence. He was the driving force in the Gunners midfield.

Alexis Sanchez - 7

Another player who had a great night. He kept Chelsea defenders on the toes and nearly gave Arsenal the lead in the 16th minute before being denied by the post.

Maitland-Niles - 7

The player had a great game tonight. Apart from letting Zapacosta give the cross to Alonso, Niles did great overall. The youngster kept Moses quite until he was on the pitch.

Alexandre Lacazette - 6

He did well in the first-half but faded away in the second. He was denied twice by Courtois. However, when you are your club's record signing, you got to live up to that price tag.

Substitutions

Danny Welbeck - 5

Welbeck was a late sub, coming on in the 80th minute. He never got going in the game.

Theo Walcott - N/A

Thibaut Courtois - 7

Had it not been for the Belgian international, Chelsea would have conceded more goals. Courtois made some fine saves in the 1st half to keep the Gunners out. But the 2nd half strikes were a bit too much for the 25-year-old

Cesar Azpilicueta - 6

Not always do you see Azpilicueta have an unsatisfactory performance. But today was one such day. Apart from 1st half header to deny Sanchez a clear chance, the Spanish international struggled at times with the passing and movement of Arsenal's front three

Andreas Christensen - 7

Christensen is young but has always had a great reading of the game. He made some fine interceptions and was composed in the heart of Chelsea's defence.

Gary Cahill - 6

Cahill was a threat from the set-pieces in the 1st half of the game but struggled in the 2nd half as Arsenal strikers scored twice.

Victor Moses - 5

Not one of the best nights for Moses. He struggled against Maitland-Niles as the player kept pushing forward. Moses spent most of his time defending and was taken off just after halftime.

N'Golo Kante - 7

Great game for the Frenchman once again. He made some fine interceptions and was solid throughout the game.

Tiemoue Bakayoko - 5

Another frustrating night for Bakayoko. He never seemed to be in the game and was often lost in the midfield. He also missed a decent chance in the 1st half of the game.

Cesc Fabregas - 7

Fabregas was once again creative throughout the game. He showcased his passing skills and helped the Blues drive forward. He also missed a good chance

Marcos Alonso - 7

Alonso didn't have a great night defending the ball as he had while going forward. He scored a fantastic goal in the last 10 minutes of the game to give Chelsea the lead.

Eden Hazard - 7

Once again, the Belgian international had a great game. His dribbling once again caused problems for the Gunners. He won the penalty and then calmly scored it past Cech to level the Blues.

Alvaro Morata - 4

Awful performance from the Spanish international, probably his worst game in this season so far. Morata had a couple of 1 on 1 chances with Cech, but he failed to convert them. He definitely cost Chelsea the game. The fans and the manager expect more from their record signing.

Substitutions

Davide Zappacosta - 6

He definitely made a difference after replacing Moses. He also provided the vital cross for Alonso's goal.

Danny Drinkwater - 5

He couldn't quite make an impact for the Blues after coming on in the 70th minute. He never really got control of the ball

Willian - N/A
