Arsenal fans launch petition to prevent Mike Dean from officiating their games in future

Referee Mike Dean sent off two Arsenal players against Chelsea on Saturday

In the aftermath of referee Mike Dean’s disastrous decision to send Gabriel off on Saturday's London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea, failing to give Diego Costa the marching orders along with the Brazillian defender has infuriated some Arsenal fans who have now launched an anti-Mike Dean petition, according to Mirror.

Let’s get some things straight first and foremost. Arsenal fans despise Chelsea and Diego Costa even more. They are now not particularly fond of Mike Dean who killed the highly anticipated match early on the first half with a shocking decision that raised many eyebrows after the game.

We all know Arsenal and their massive online presence which they extensively use to hijack polls/dominate Twitter/launch an Arsenal-related crusade. It’s no surprise they are using to call for Mike Dean’s head on the internet by launching an anti-Mike Dean petition.

Petition to urge FA to investigate referee Mike Dean

The petition is aimed at having Dean investigated by the FA and prevent him from taking charge of any future Arsenal games.

It reads: "After many poor decisions that go against Arsenal when Mike Dean is refereeing the game, it is time that we get an inquiry to his ability to referee Arsenal games

"Major incidents have occurred in recent and past games that show he is inept at refereeing at this level now.

"The recent events at Chelsea V Arsenal (19/09/15) highlight this where two Arsenal players were dismissed while Diego Costa the opposition player made four straight red card incidents and was shown one yellow card only.”

“Also the incident where Mike Dean celebrated for the opposition when they scored a goal, this was in the Arsenal V Tottenham Hotspur fixture (26/02/2012)."

Arsenal fans know how to mobilise their online army and nearly 25,000 people has already signed the petition. The petition needs 35,000 signature to force the FA to look into the issue.

Such things might raise brief laughs and they vanish away for most clubs. Not Arsenal as we can clearly see they are unimpressed by Mike Dean’s credentials to officiate their games.

Arsenal will visit the White Hart Lane in their next Premier League fixture as they face Tottenham in the North London derby with an aim to bury their miserable outing at the Stamford Bridge behind.
