Arsenal Transfer News: Dani Alves Urges Fabregas To Make Barcelona Switch

Barcelona fullback Dani Alves has joined the ever growing list of players cajoling Cesc Fabregas to make the switch to the Camp Nou. The Brazilian defender encouraged Fabregas to do whatever it takes to push the transfer through, citing his own example at Sevilla before he moved to Barcelona.

Come join me in business class, says Dani

This transfer window has followed a similar pattern to that of previous ones, with Barcelona publicly unsettling the player using player quotes and planted stories in their dummy newspapers, before making an underwhelming offer and expecting Arsenal to accede to their demands. The London club steadfastly refused both bids made last summer, and have also said an unequivocal ‘no’ to the measly 27 million pound bid made by Barca last week.

However, sources from inside the club revealed that Arsenal were willing to sell their captain if they got a sensible offer. Fabreags himself has publicly admitted that he wants to play for Barcelona, but won’t force Arsenal’s hand in any way because he owes them his entire development and many good years of football.

Alves disagrees with this view however, and advised Cesc to follow his lead and force a transfer, and join him in the ‘business class’ of Barcelona. He said-

“I understand that he doesn’t want to leave Arsenal on bad terms but I can understand why he would force a move to Barca.”

“Players always end up where they want to play and a club shouldn’t keep an unhappy member of the squad.”

“I forced my exit from Sevilla; I saw the train passing by and I wanted to be in business class,”

It remains to be seen whether Cesc accedes to Alves’s requests and finally hands in a transfer request at Arsenal, or if the London club manage to hold on to him for another year. Stay tuned for more in this regard.
