Arsenal U19's progress to the semi-finals of the NextGen Series

Arsenal Training Session

Arsenal beat CSKA Moscow to reach the semi-finals of NextGen Series.

Serge Gnarby scored the only goal of the match that came in the 56th minute. Gnarby had a chance to get his name on the score-sheet earlier in the game but his diving header was saved by Moscow goalkeeper Sergey Revyakin.

The junior Arsenal team included Yennaris, Eisfeld, Akpom along with others.

The goal was set-up after some brilliant team-work between Hector Bellerin and Gnarby. The goal showed what 17-year-old Gnarby is capable of and he is expected to be a big name in the near future.

Arsenal will now face Chelsea in the semi-finals.

The first half was dominated by Arsenal but they could not get past the well organised Moscow defense. Bellerin delivered a superb cross that was headed towards the goal by Gnarby. Revyakin was brilliant to save the diving header.

Gnarby was the heart of the team and kept the attacks going. Meanwhile, Moscow had their share of chances with Anton Polyutkin missing a golden oppurtunity after failing to control the ball.

The game ended in Arsenal’s favour and the two London clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea, will battle it out in the semi finals.
