Arsene Wenger to go on a shopping spree in January

Arsenal are still yet to enter into the transfer market, as it enters its half way point. But this is soon about to change as Arsene Wenger has indicated that the can spend a good amount in this winter transfer window.

Wenger said that he’s keen of following Barcelona‘s way of building a team around the core of a homegrown squad. But he also said that he’s ready to bolster the squad with new signings and is on the look out for quality players. Wenger has said that his plan is to keep all the current players in the squad and, if possible, add two more new players.

The Arsenal fans have witnessed their club, who will play host to Swansea, fall off their pace in the title race.

Wenger, who has expressed his views regarding the club’s limited spending due to the building of the new stadium, followed it up by saying that the club is now in a much better financial position and can spend on new signings. The club is currently in talks with Theo Walcott to come to an agreement regarding his future with the club, and then will move on to other deals.

Lyon playmaker Yoann Gourcuff, 26, and West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame, 25, are the latest additions to the list of players under Wenger’s radar.
