Atletico Madrid confirm Moya's move from Getafe

Miguel Ángel Moyá

Atletico Madrid has confirmed the signing of Miguel Ángel Moyá from Getafe. The 30-year-old will sign a three year old deal with the La Liga Champions after undergoing his medical examination.

Moya started his career with RCD Mallorca before he was transferred to Valencia in June 2009. But due to lack of playing time, he was loaned to Getafe where he was later transferred.

Moya will replace an impressive Thibaut Courtois who appears to be heading back to his parent club Chelsea. Courtois who was on loan to Atletico Madrid had an impressive season with the current league champions. He played an important role in Atletico Madrid’s journey to winning the La Liga title after 18 years and also making it to the finals of the Champions League. It remains to be seen whether Moya can fill in the huge boots that the Belgium International leaves behind.
